About

Shop Don’t Tell is a Los Angeles-based digital storefront for archival fashion. Our garments are sourced from a small set of designers, and we have been proud to lease and sell many museum-grade pieces of fashion history during the years we have been in operation. Recently, we have narrowed our catalog of brands down to just a few designers that we want to focus on so we can provide you with the most carefully curated selection from the late 20th / early 21st century moment in Japanese and European fashion history that is our focus. To that end, our catalog includes Comme Des Garçons, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Kapital, and Helmut Lang. Visit the store to see our current selection.

In addition, Shop Don’t Tell is a production platform for editorial writing about stylistic trends and fashion theory. Our newsletter and research center, The Gone Library, provides you with regular analysis of historical and contemporary works in a style that emphasizes original historical research, critical analysis, and the technical details of garment manufacture. Sign up on the bottom of the page to subscribe to our monthly newsletter, which includes exclusive content, contests, and giveaways. If you are interested in getting more involved in Shop Don’t Tell and submitting content for our monthly editorials, please join our growing Instagram community @shopdonttell and @gone.library
